classes one Sunday each month. Our second workshop will explore Buddhist history, general concepts and meditation
as they relate to balance the rigors of daily life. These classes are open to the public. We encourage you to

Take advantage of each, as they will be offered only once every two years. Learn details about
this fierce offensive style (Southern Long Fist) of Kung Fu through a seminar on the 10 applications of the first
form in the Leadership program. This style is represented by the shield on the front of your uniform. All ages
are encouraged to attend as this information will prove valuable to your training. Even if you are only at the
halfway point of the form, you are welcome to attend. Knowledge is power, see you there.ONGOING PROGRAM: A Journey to China in North Miami An icon in North Miami, The Kung Fu Connection has been serving the community with the traditional arts of China since 1988. Our interior boasts authentic cultural artifacts, ancient weaponry, charts, photos and an array of items that tell a memorable visual story of pre-communist China. Our lecture, Chinese martial arts class, dialogue and tour provide an unforgettable cultural exploration in a unique and safe environment. Link us to a pre-existing curriculum or introduce these cultural concepts through your arts or music program. More importantly this session will raise the awareness of our youth on the significance of preservation, discipline, humility and honor in contemporary society. Bring a notebook and towel. Wear loose clothing and a tight fitting weight belt.) This intensive seminar will be conducted by master Si Gung Chin's only disciple, Master Rubio. A direct lineage system with astounding results. S U M M E R 2 0 0 7 HUA SHAN PAI CHI GUNG Review Friday - August 10th, 6 pm to 8 pm Master Rubio will conduct a review of the first five exercises acquired in the Hua Shan Pai Seminar with Si Gung Chin. The details and proper form of these exercises are paramount to obtaining the maximum benefit of their intention. Master Rubio will also be available to answer questions during the review. Please bring your "notice" books or your pamphlets to take valuable notes to support your practice. First time practitioners are encouraged to attend but, all students are welcome. SHAOLIN FLUTE FORM Seminar Monday - August 20th, 7 pm to 9 pm FEE: $60 (Flute included) Master Rubio’s Shaolin brother from Sao Paulo, SiFu Beto, will conduct a unique form known as The Shaolin Flute Form. Si Fu Beto trains under our Great Grandmaster Chan Kwok Wei and is instrumental in keeping our precious lineage alive and well in Brazil. S U M M E R 2 0 0 4 MASTERS OF ART Seminars Presenting seminars led by two respected leaders in martial arts — Sifu Roberto Baptista (Beto) An International Coach certified by IWUF (International Wushu FederationBeijing, China), who also served as one of the 11 members of IWUF Technical Committee from 2001-2003. In 2000 he was included in the USA Wushu Kungfu Federation Hall of Fame for his efforts in promoting Wushu worldwide. Si Gung Kenny Chin is recognized the world over as a master of the Hua Shan Pai style of Chi Gung, an ancient Taoist style nearly lost in time. NANQUAN Seminar Two Days - June 25 & 26 Duration: 5 hours total 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Fee: $95.00 All Welcome! The Foundation and Basic Forms of Nanquan (Southern Fist) Sifu Baptista will be teaching Nanquan as required by the Wushu Standard Course sanctioned by IWUF (International Wushu Federation). Seminar includes the study of fundamental movements and basic stances and forms. A singular opportunity to learn Nanquan from it's very basis and set a strong and solid foundation. During this seminar you'll learn as Chinese students learn in China. CHILDREN'S Seminar One Day - June 26 Duration: 3 hours 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Fee: $35.00, only $60.00 for two children Sifu Baptista will teach safe methods of falling, and basic throwing and grappling techniques applied directly to children's self-defense, all done in a very safe and fun way. CHEN TAI CHI Seminar Two Days - June 27 & 28 Duration: 5.5 hours total June 27th - 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm June 28th - 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm Fee: $45.00 Sifu Baptista learned Chen Style Tai Chi in China and will teach you the 18 Fundamental Movements Form, an excellent introductory Chen style form that includes movements as well as other characteristics of the Chen first and second routines (Laojia Yilu and Laojia Erlu). This is a rare oportunity to learn a great, yet short, form a must for the serious Tai Chi student who seeks a deep undertanding of the art. CHI GUNG Seminar Two Days - July 16 & 17, with Si Gung Chin In China, the Hua Shan Pai style of Chi Gung is recognized as one of the best for promoting life rejuvenation and longevity. The Chi Gung of Hua Shan (the name of the mountain where a temple was built and it's original practitioner resided) was taught only to selected Taoist disciples and kept closely guarded. This art has survived the centuries but with few current practitioners. Si Gung Chin is one of those very rare practitioners with a direct lineage to this ancient treasure. |
